Checking our Self-Image

Alison had a great day with Rosie Parsons Photography in Exeter getting some headshots done for her website and social media. Rosie specialises in taking pictures for women who run their own businesses and making them look fabulous. The bright background colours stand out. Alison asked her friends on Facebook and contacts on LinkedIn which was the one that people preferred and the result is below.

It got us thinking about how important self-image is. Often our confidence can be increased just by knowing we look good, and the reverse is true if we feel we are not looking our best. During menopause, chaotic hormones can also affect our confidence. Anne had a woman come to see her in clinic who had been a medical rep for years and driving long distances was part of her job. Suddenly, she found she just couldn’t turn right and had to devise routes that just involved left turns. She hadn’t realised that this dip in her confidence was due to hormonal imbalance.

There are over 35 different symptoms associated with perimenopause. If you are finding that you are experiencing lack of confidence where you didn’t before, and you are over 40, this could be the reason. If it is affecting your life, then you could investigate ways to help you rebalance. Homeopathic remedies such as sepia can help with this, but it is best to see a qualified homeopath to get the right remedy for you. And have a look at Anne’s book Menopause: Survive and Thrive to get other ideas. (See the link at the bottom of the webpage.)
